December Playing in the Snow

Trent and I are not snow people. We really dislike it. So living in sunny California is really a blessing for us. But...this means our kids don't get to grow up throwing snowballs, sledding, or any other Winter activity until they are older and maybe get to ride a ski bus up to Big Bear. I honestly don't know if that's even available around here. We are just wimpy when it comes to winter activity. So, that being said, our kids LOVED bundling up and getting out in the snow while we were in Washington State this last December!

Sledding out in the country with uncle Breck and uncle Brock. As much as we don't like snow activities I have to admit this was the most fun I have had in a LONG time. It was especially fun being with my brothers. They have such fun personalities. I have some really funny videos of us going down the hill crashing into the corn field. I am hoping to be able to figure out how to get them to work on my computer so I can post them.

I wish it would have been lighter when we took these. This is Breck and Cael. They were going so fast. The look on Cael's face was so funny!

My Birthday Trip

I call this my Birthday trip and I loved it, but the kids were really the ones that were the most excited. We went to San Diego to the Birch Aquarium to check out the sea life they had there. They knew that in the afternoon we were going to go whale watching so the entire time we were at the aquarium Nathan was running around shouting, "I'm SO excited!"

You can't tell by this photo, but we had a difficult time getting Cael to stand by the shark tank because he was so nervous they were going to get him.

I was informed by Nathan that this is a Pirate Ship and there were indeed pirates on board.

At the beginning of our trip these guys were flying above us making us very nervous. The kids loved it and couldn't understand why we wanted them to go away. Once we explained to them why, they thought that was hilarious. We told them it wouldn't be so funny if it landed on them:)

School of Dolpins

These photos are a bit misleading. We did see several dolphins and whales, but we were not this close. We had a zoom lens on the camera to get some good photos.

Our first whale sighting. We were informed to look for the shooting water.

A breach whale in the distance. They told us that this was a treat because they did not often see the whales get up out of the water like this.

Whales fluke or tail fin. They explained that when you see the whales fluke it means they are diving down to the bottom to feed for a few minutes. We would wait about 3-5 minutes to see them come back up again.

This was a fun day and very much worth the time and money. I would recommend it to anyone who likes to do new things and enjoys sea life!
